This full-length play, with a unit set, and 6-8 male characters. Synopsis: Constable Henry Maunder becomes suspicious when Englandʼs foremost
playwright, Christopher Marlowe, is stabbed to death in a rural pub --supposedly over the dinner bill – just days before Marlowe is to be tried for treason. Then more puzzling details emerge. No one can find the unmarked grave where Marlowe was buried. And suspiciously, a new playwright has burst upon the scene, unexpectedly churning out breathtaking dramas. Heʼs an unknown actor with an odd name – Shakespeare or something like that – an uneducated fellow who is best known, not for his few stage walk-ons, but rather for holding horses for the gentry while they watch plays. The last straw for the Constable is his sudden realization that lines appearing in Shakespeareʼs plays are identical to those from Marloweʼs works. Now he knows thereʼs more going on than just plagiarism and decides to investigate the twisted case of Christopher Marlowe … corpse or culprit!
